You know when you come across a cute pretty object, like a pair of earrings, or a colourful silk notebook, and you feel like: “Ooooh, I like that…”, you buy it and when you come out of the shop you can’t wait to use it or put your new earrings on? I get that all the time. It’s like being back to childhood, when my parents’ friends would come to visit us and they would bring me pretty new clothes for my Barbie. I couldn’t wait to make Barbie try them on… {please tell me I wasn’t the only girl getting excited about this!}.

Well, a few weeks ago I came across a lovely stationery website, Jolie Papeterie Boutique, that lightened my heart and made me smile, just like when I used to get some new clothes for Barbie. The bright colours, the luxury paper, the designs – everything about it really made me happy. And I reckon it’s because, with their clever branding, these guys have managed to portray right from their home page who they are and what their brand stands for. Pretty, unique stationery made by a couple that has incredible passion for what they do and strive to deliver the best for their clients. Simply beautiful.

So I contacted Nicola at Jolie Papeterie Boutique and asked her if she could share some pictures of their beautiful designs for my blog. Luckily for me, Nicola was just in the process of having a range of stationery photographed by Candice Davidson {Make a Memory Photography}, so a few days later, here we are! The photos are on Linen and Silk just for you!

Nicola has also shared with me a brief introduction about their company, but before you read ahead and think: “Oh, they’re based in Canada… We can’t use them…”, well think again. {The Beginnings}

Jolie Papeterie Boutique is the French way of saying ‘Pretty Stationery Store’. It is owned and operated by a husband and wife team, Nicola & Stephane. They met at Oakville’s Sherdian College where she studied Crafts & Design and he studied Illustration, fell in love, moved in together and married in September of 2007.

When Nicola designed their wedding invitations, accessories and favours–people took notice. As she planned her sister’s wedding, an employee at the bridal store told her she had a knack for wedding design and she should pursue it. Nicola then went on to design stationery for several occasions with Stephane’s assistance and support, until Stephane and Nicola founded Jolie Papeterie Boutique in the spring of 2010.

{Expertise}

Stephane and Nicola know just how stressful the wedding planning process can be. They experienced it first hand, and decided to open Jolie Papeterie Boutique to alleviate some of initial planning nerves you will likely encounter.

Since invitations are the first thing a bride and groom’s guests will see, Jolie Papeterie is dedicated to providing affordable high-quality wedding stationery and accessories that make a statement. Mass production invitation services can’t compare to the way Jolie Papeterie considers your input and takes the time and effort to make sure you are completely satisfied with your order.

{Mission}

Jolie’s service policy and design elements are carefully crafted to ensure clients are delighted with their stationery and accessories. When couples choose Jolie, uniquely beautiful–yet fresh and contemporary designs will set the tone for their wedding. All of Jolie’s compositions are customizable and available in French (Stephane’s first language). Couples may choose from a wide range of pre-made designs,or tell Jolie Papeterie what they are looking for, and Jolie will create something specifically for them. “It’s not only what we do, it’s our passion.”
