I’m in love! Look at these pretty bags from The Original Wedding Tea Towel!

If you are anything like me, then you probably don’t take yourself too seriously, and the idea of using invites or thank you favours like this make you want to say: “Yes, please!”. Bringing a bit of fun to your wedding often makes it a more enjoyable and relaxed day for all involved, and invites or thank you favours like this will definitely set the tone!

Karen and Ben are the founders of this great concept, The Original Wedding Tea Towel. When they got married 2 years ago, they were looking for an original wedding invite that could also be something that guests would end up keeping. Coming from a creative background, Karen and Ben took the challenge in their own hands and eventually ended up creating the original whale design on a tea towel.

A tea towel?! Imaging receiving a tea towel as a gift! One very clear benefit is that no one could ever claim they couldn’t remember when your wedding anniversary is. If they use the towel, they would be reminded of the day you got married every time it leaves their kitchen drawer. If they don’t use the towel, they still have no excuse as I, personally, would take the towel and frame it! The Original Wedding Tea Towel‘s designs are so funky, cute and fun that they would make really pretty wall pictures too. Don’t you agree?

Many couples today are now opting out of buying wedding favours. The expense can often have quite an impact on your budget, unless you go for sweets or candies, which I’m personally not a fan of as they cannot be kept forever as a memory of your special day. But The Original Wedding Tea Towel are a great solution to combining an original invite to something useful for guests to keep, thus potentially saving you £££.

Their price structure is also very simple, with variants depending solely on the design and quantities, and whether you’ll stick to one colour or prefer two. Prices start from £125 (i.e. 20 tea towels using the Penny Friendly Black and White design (above) and delivery to UK), but their pricing page will give you a very clear indication of the type of budget you will need. I really love this idea and I challenge you to find any other stationery company that will create invites that are beautiful to look at, useful to your guests and as reasonably priced as The Original Wedding Tea Towel.

Brides, what do you think of this idea? How do you think your guests will react to receiving a tea towel or fabric bag as their invotation?
