A relaxed love shoot in Tenerife – Sara & Boto + Lourdes & Luis

Good Monday lovelies!

Last week I haven’t given the blog a lot of time and for this apologise profusely. I hope you will forgive me with this gorgeous double shoot by Canary Islands’ photographer Quim Leon. Quim is not new to Linen & Silk. He is an amazing photographer, with incredible vision and a unique style that I love. His pictures are contemporary, and yet they don’t conform to trends or fashion, his approach is nearly conceptual, and he is an exceptionally humble person, which makes it a pleasure to deal with him.

I was thrilled when I received this double love shoot of friends Sara & Boto + Lourdes & Louis from Quim. Apart from the gorgeous photography, there is also something about it that made me feel at home. And no, that’s not because most of the shoot was done in a home, but because it focuses on those details and aspects of life we all live daily.

When Quim set out to shoot these two lovely couples, unfortunately it started to rain, so instead of rescheduling, Quim documented the two couples spending a lovely afternoon together, cooking, drinking and enjoying each other’s company. I love the relaxed feeling on this session and, in a way, following them around the house!

Sara and Lourdes have told us a bit more about each other. Over to them:

Sara and Boto, as told by Lourdes & Louis:

We all met working at a popular nightclub in Santa Cruz, Tenerife. In time, we became really good friends, and continued to meet up every year.

We remember Sara and Boto spending a lot of time together. Eventually they became very good friends, so we started teasing about how close they were… Sara and Boto, however, insisted that theirs was just a good friendship. I guess sometimes affection between two people is so great that we fear labels and starting a relationship would spoil it… {so true!}

One day, Sara & Boto finally admitted that they were more than friends. We were all so happy we celebrated with drinks and hugs, and from that day they have become one who the strongest couples of our group of friends. They now live together in a beautiful house on the north side of the island  with their cat and dog Hima.

Lourdes & Louis, as told by Sara and Boto:

Between Lourdes and Luis there was always something special that they hadn’t admitted to anyone. It was something so deep and intimate that they even feared revealing it to each other, but as you can imagine, those hidden feelings became evident through the secret glances and smiles they were giving each other. One night Luis declared his love on a lonely bridge in the local area. Today Lourdes and Luis have been happily married for four years, and they are looking forward to attend our wedding!

And so, a cocktail bar in Tenerife witnessed the birth of two stories of love and friendship – stories that still last to this day…

    Gorgeous post! I’ve been following Quim’s work for a while and all I can say about him is good words. Not only his profesionalism or his great style, but also his kindness defined pretty well Quim and it is reflected on each image. Congrats to blogger and photographer!
